Every plan includes the whole app.

The free trial too. The plans differ in how long they last and how many computers they cover.

Who created a file
Right-click one new file or several in a tracked folder and select CapyWatcher. Each file gets its own answer: the program that created it, the program that started that one, its folder, the user and the time.
History by program
Find every recorded file by time, user, program or the program that started it. Or start from a program and see every file it created.
Export history
Save what History shows as a CSV file, with each file’s path, program, parent processes, PID, user and time.
Renames keep their record
A download renamed when it finishes still names the browser that saved it.
Tracked folders on any drive
Choose the folders to watch, on any drive in your computer. A drive that isn’t connected keeps its setting until it’s back.
History on your computer
Choose where history is stored, how long it’s kept and how large it may grow. It’s never uploaded.
Updates
The app checks for new versions and can install them by itself. It closes for a few seconds, then opens again.
Notifications
Windows notifications when an update is ready, when history is almost full and when old records are removed.
Tray and startup
Runs from the notification area, starts with Windows and closes to the tray, each as you choose.
Light, dark and High Contrast
Match Windows, or pick light or dark. With High Contrast on, Windows chooses the colors.
Available in 5 languages
English, German, Spanish, French and Italian. The app uses your Windows language when it has it.
Settings backup
Save your settings to a file and load them on this or another computer.

How is my payment processed?
Creem processes it. Creem is the Merchant of Record: it runs the checkout, takes the payment, adds any tax, and sends your receipt and invoice. Its name is on your card statement. You can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a local payment method, depending on your country. CapyWatcher never sees your card details.
Where do I find my license key?
On the page after payment, in Creem’s receipt email and in Creem’s customer portal. In the app, open Help, select Enter key under License, and paste it.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You get a full refund within 14 days of a purchase or a renewal, for any reason. Write by email or a DM on X. Refund policy
What happens when the free trial ends?
The app keeps recording new files, but it shows which program created them only with a license. Once you enter a key, you see every answer recorded since you installed it.
How many computers does a license cover?
Up to 3 at a time, for personal and work use. A computer is a physical computer or a virtual machine. The free trial runs on the computer you install it on. To move a license, remove the old computer in the app: open Help, then See computers.
What happens when my yearly plan ends?
It renews each year until you cancel. Cancel any time in Creem’s customer portal, and the plan runs to the end of the year you paid for. If it isn’t renewed, the app works for 14 more days, then keeps recording and shows answers again once you renew or buy a lifetime license.
Can I switch from yearly to lifetime?
Yes. Buy a lifetime license, then cancel the yearly plan in Creem’s customer portal. What you paid for the yearly plan isn’t credited toward it.
What does the lifetime license cover?
Every future release, on up to 3 computers at a time. If a Linux version comes, your license covers it too. And if the license server ever stops, you get a final version that works without the license check first, announced at least 90 days ahead, as the terms promise.
Do I need an account?
No. The app has no account and no sign-in. Creem asks for your email address at checkout to send your receipt and key.
Can my company buy it?
Yes. A license covers work use. Creem’s receipt email has a link to make an invoice in your business’s name, with its address and any notes, such as your VAT ID.
Buying for a team?
Each person needs their own license. To buy several, write to support.
What do I need to run it?
Windows 11, 64-bit (x64). Other Windows versions aren’t tested.
