What changed in each version of CapyWatcher, newest first.

The capybara detective watches, three-quarter view.

Get updates.

In the app
Once CapyWatcher is out, it checks for updates and tells you when one is ready. It can also install them by itself.
  1. Buying a license is open

You can now buy CapyWatcher. The yearly plan is $29 a year until you cancel, and the lifetime license is $49 once. Each covers up to 3 computers at a time. See pricing.

Creem sells the license and sends your key by email right after payment. In the app, open Help, select Enter key under License, and paste it.

The free trial still runs 7 days with every feature, with no card and no email.

  2. Version 1.0.0

    CapyWatcher 1.0.0 is out

The first release is here. Install it, choose the folders to track, and right-click a new file to see which program created it.

The free trial runs 7 days with every feature. Buying a license opens soon, and I’ll say so here and on X (opens in a new tab).

It runs on Windows 11, and on Windows 10 version 1803 or later, 64-bit. The installer isn’t code signed, so Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Select More info, then Run anyway.

  3. The website is live

CapyWatcher has a home on the web, though the app itself is still in the works. Once it’s out, you right-click a new file in a folder you chose, and it shows which program created it and which AI agent started that program.

I’ll announce the first release here, in this page’s RSS feed and on X as @CapyWatcherApp (opens in a new tab). Until then, this page holds exactly one note, and you’re reading it.
