For companies.Windows Installer rolls it out to many computers.

Requires Windows 11, or Windows 10 version 1803 or later, 64-bit (x64).

After the download.

The installer’s code signing is waiting on Microsoft’s identity check. Until it’s signed, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen doesn’t recognize it, so Windows asks you to confirm before it runs.

  1. Open CapyWatcher-Setup-1.1.0.exe from your browser’s downloads list.

  2. Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Select More info.

  3. Check that the app is your file and select Run anyway.

    The .msi shows the same box, with its own file name.

  4. Windows asks whether to allow the app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device. Select Yes.

  5. The .exe opens its setup wizard. The .msi shows “Please wait while Windows configures CapyWatcher”, then the app opens.

Install on many computers.

The .msi installs silently from a command line, and never asks for a restart.

On the first install, add INSTALLFOLDER="D:\Apps\CapyWatcher". The default is C:\Program Files\CapyWatcher.

Installed with no one signed in

Each person gets the Start menu entry and Start with Windows at their next sign-in.

Installed.

The install was cancelled.

1603

The install failed, or a newer version is installed. Windows rolled it back.

Another install is running. Try again when it ends.
